HYPE (Helping Young Professionals Engage) began with an explosive launch in April 2007 guided by one simple ambition: To enrich our region by connecting young professionals. In less than one year, our mailing list includes over 5000 young professionals from a wide range of industries, backgrounds and interests.
We believe young professionals (YPs) have an important role to play in community service and economic development, so HYPE offers opportunities for young leaders to share ideas and engage with others passionate about making our community a better place to live, work, and play. We invite you to help build the momentum by joining our mailing list. There are many ways to participate and contribute.
How Can HYPE Help Me?
HYPE offers a variety of events to benefit all YPs. Our social events at various local venues provide valuable networking opportunities.
Workshops, classes, and seminars provide a wide variety of professional development topics. Community service opportunities are available with the help of our friends at Hands On Greater Richmond. Designed with the YP in mind, whether new to Richmond or a long-time resident,

How Can I Become Part of HYPE?

Who started HYPE?
HYPE is a program of The Greater Richmond Chamber. The Chamber provides opportunities for all businesses and individuals who have a stake in the Greater Richmond region. Innovative programs include Invision events, Vision checks, breakfast breaks, the Greater Richmond Challenge, and many other events.
The Chamber fully supports the active young professionals movement in our community and is proud to include HYPE on its roster of programs serving the Greater Richmond Region.
