Phil Umansky, CPA, Ph.D. is an associate professor of accounting at Virginia Union University (VUU)
and an adjunct professor of accounting at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Umansky has taught accounting, finance, and economics and has been a full-time faculty member at VUU since 1989. A certified public accountant (CPA), he has also taught CPA Exam review courses. Umansky received his master’s degree in accounting from Virginia Tech and his Ph.D. in accounting from VCU. He is a member of the Virginia Society
of CPAs, actively participating in the organizations’ award-winning Financial Fitness initiative (www.financialfitness.org) and discussing money management topics
with various community organizations.
