Dominion Resources was announced as the winner of the second annual HYPE (Helping Young Professionals Engage) Young Professional Workplace Award at the YP Workplace Award Celebration Thursday night at the Robinson Theater Community Arts Center. The Greater Richmond Chamber’s HYPE Young Professional Workplace Award recognizes businesses in the Greater Richmond Region that successfully attract and retain young employees, promote a healthy work/life balance, and provide opportunities for their young employees to develop leadership potential. Other finalists for the 2009 YP Workplace Award were Bon Secours Richmond Health System, CapTech Ventures, Inc., GENWORTH Financial, Inc. and Madison+Main.

Their strategy is to be a leading provider of electricity, natural gas, and related services in the energy-intensive Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the United States. They employ 4,644 full-time employees in the Richmond area with 1,267 under the age of 40.
